Frequently asked questions

  • The Department subscription gives every teacher a free Individual Teacher subscription using a custom promotion code for your school. There is no additional ‘Department’ content.

Anyone in the department or school finance can set up a Department subscription. They will become the point of contact and will be responsible for billing. They'll receive a confirmation email, and then a few hours later another email with the custom promotion code. This is done by hand, and so takes a little bit of time. Any teacher in the department can use this promotion code to set up a free Individual Teacher subscription. The promotion code lasts for as long as the subscription continues, and can be used any number of times.

  • Paying by credit card is simplest, but if you need to pay by invoicing with a PO number then there’s an option when you sign up.

  • The easiest thing to do is to cancel your Individual Teacher subscription - get in touch if you need help with this - and then set up a Department subscription from scratch. You don't need to register again if you're the one who's going to own the Department subscription administration.

  • At the moment if you pay in British Pounds then your credit card issuer should just convert this to your own currency, so you can subscribe from anywhere in the world. Even though your card issuer might add on a couple of per cent transaction fee, it's probably cheaper than if the subscriptions were priced naturally in your own currency, because then each subscription would have to be at a rational price point - no one prices their products at $11.83 a month - and since Sterling is pretty weak, this would likely be higher than simply taking the currency transaction hit.
